Job description

The Love Productions Office Runner scheme is designed to make TV more accessible to under-represented groups, providing the opportunity to develop and grow within the industry. We are actively seeking applications from candidates from minority ethnic and lower socio-economic backgrounds.

The Office Runner scheme offers a brilliant opportunity to work with everyone in the business. It will provide you with a great insight to various roles and the opportunity to learn valuable skills that will give you a good grounding in the industry and at Love Productions.

This is a full-time office-based role working within our team of 2 Runners, to support the running of our busy London office. You will be based in the office Monday - Friday on a shift rota basis on early and late shifts. The Office Runners are the first point of contact for anyone who enters the building, and supporting the staff and visitors with requests as required is crucial to ensuring the smooth running of the office.

The Office Runner role is offered as a 12-month contract, and once completed you will be provided the opportunity to move into a junior freelance role within the company. Previous Office Runners have gone on to progress within Love Productions as Junior Researchers, Production Secretaries, Edit Assistants etc.

Duties include:

  • Assisting the day-to-day running of the office.
  • Switchboard and Reception duties.
  • Booking in office maintenance and services.
  • Managing and ordering equipment e.g. Office cameras, stills camera, office equipment, etc.
  • Ordering stationary for the office/productions and keeping stock tidy.
  • Photocopying, printing, and basic filing.
  • Organising post including collecting and delivering mail.
  • Managing petty cash.
  • Liaising with IT consultants.
  • Keeping kitchens clean and tidy. Ordering of food supplies when there are shortages.
  • Checking and setting up meeting rooms. Managing the booking schedule for meeting rooms.
  • Assist with the organisation of office social events.
  • Helping productions with admin and runner duties.
  • Working on research tasks for development and productions.
  • Sourcing and purchasing props/equipment for productions and the office.
  • Helping to maintain and check kit, along with assisting set up for shoots or meetings etc.
  • Sending out links to programmes and making copies of masters.
  • Dealing with requests from the public e.g., calls in to switchboard and checking general enquiry emails and directing these to the relevant departments within the company and responding where appropriate.

What we are looking for

  • We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and has a genuine interest in working in the TV industry.
  • You will be interested and knowledgeable in Love Productions output and factual programmes more generally.
  • Good communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Practical and logical approach to work
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc…)
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Desirable

  • Ability to use equipment or technical experience e.g. cameras, editing, Photoshop or social media/digital experience
  • Hold a full driving license
