About Teach First

We’re a leading education charity. We believe education is the most powerful tool to help a child fulfil their potential. And we’ve already improved the life chances of over two million pupils

We train teachers in schools in the most deprived areas of the country, making sure no child is left behind.

You’ll put your existing skills into action and lead a class from day one. You’ll advance in ways you never imagined. All while giving children facing the biggest barriers the chance to reach their full potential.

We also offer a number of undergraduate opportunities – including internships and taster experiences – so you can find out what the Training Programme is really all about.

Training Programme

Discover your future with Teach First.

Apply now to join our Training Programme, a two-year graduate scheme that sees us ranked #15 in The Times Top 100 Graduate Employers. To secure your preferred location, be sure to apply early, as we will close subjects and locations on a rolling basis.

What can Teach First offer you?

Our Training Programme is much more than just the UK’s largest teacher training programme.

How about giving you a stable career? Where no two days are the same. Where you’ll learn skills that will take you anywhere. Where you’ll learn to lead, all whilst being paid from day one in the classroom.

How about community? A network – 17,750+ strong, made up of teachers, professionals and industry leaders. Who will support you on your journey.

How about purpose? The chance to change the lives of the young people our society is failing. To power their potential.

How it begins

Your journey begins with six-weeks of training at the Institute. This combines online learning with in-person days. We also offer a part-time option for the Institute if needed. You’ll then begin teaching in a school.
