Innovations and socio-economic transformations
The Master’s specialisation in Sustainable Economies and Corporations explores the role of the private sector in solving structural resource scarcity and environmental problems, notably related to fossil energy use and climate change, and shaping sustainable society. The programme mixes behavioural economics, organisational studies and innovation management as well as different environmentally sustainable economies, including the we-economy, the bio-economy, circular economies and the sharing economy. The programme also deals with questions of perpetual growth.
What will you learn?
- Gain a theoretical understanding of the relationship between society, sustainability and politics
- Get new perspectives on the societal context of spatial and environmental issues in relation to institutional approaches
- Learn about a variety of alternative or transitional economies
- Understand the latest scientific insights, illustrated with numerous examples from the private sector: from cars and light bulbs to second-hand item web shops to coffee and chocolate
- Get hands on experience working on practical issues, as well as in designing, conducing and presenting your own research
