About University of Lincoln
Situated in the heart of a beautiful and historic city, the University of Lincoln sits on the picturesque Brayford Pool waterfront, with everything you need either on campus or just a short walk away – the city centre and all major transport links are just five minutes away.
We ranked second in the UK for Postgraduate at the WhatUni Student Choice Awards 2024, and we are in the top 10 for Postgraduate support in the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey 2024. We are also one of a select group of universities to be awarded the top Gold rating overall, and for both aspect ratings for student experience and student outcomes in the national Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023.
The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide placed us in their top 10 modern universities in the UK, and we were awarded maximum five-star score overall in the prestigious QS Stars ratings system of global universities, and feature in the QS World University Rankings 2024 of the world's top 1,000 universities.
In 2023, the University was also awarded the Queen's Anniversary Prize - the highest national honour available to UK colleges and universities - recognising our role in supporting the success and sustainability of the UK’s food and farming industries.
The University of Lincoln offers a range of postgraduate programmes across our College of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities and College of Health and Science.
Research Excellence
Lincoln is proud to be home to world class researchers who are making profound contributions to their subject areas. More than three quarters of our research (79%) was rated as internationally excellent or world-leading (three or four star) in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF) – the latest national assessment of research standards across UK universities.
From developing new medical technologies to preserving rare architectural treasures, the work of Lincoln’s academics and students makes a real difference to society.
For example, through our transformative Centres for Doctoral Training (CDT) - including leading the world’s first CDT in agri-food robotics - Lincoln’s robotics and autonomous systems researchers are spearheading the development of next generation technologies for use in the food and farming industries, as well as developing practical applications for Artificial Intelligence to real-world challenges in sustainable agri-food.
And our Lincoln Institute for Rural and Coastal Health is the country's first integrated and multidisciplinary research institute dedicated to bringing together world class rural and coastal health and wellbeing research.
